resolution and construction law.
Experience
Naresh Mahtani has been in legal practice for
over 25 years, with local, regional and
international experience in commercial
transactions, construction, engineering and
infrastructure projects work, oil and gas
construction projects, dispute resolution and
related areas of law. He is currently a
Consultant to the firm.
He has been appointed as Adjudicator in
construction claim disputes and as Arbitrator
and Arbitration Counsel in major construction
and international arbitrations involving
construction and commercial disputes in the
building & construction industry and oil &
gas industry in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia
and United States of America.
He is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of
Arbitrators and the Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators.
He has represented a broad-based clientele
consisting of local and international major
construction companies, architectural firms,
developers and operators of engineering
facilities in Singapore and in the region.
He has written and presented many articles
and papers on subjects concerning contracts,
dispute resolution, construction law and the
legal profession.

of three major hotels and shopping
complex in the Marina Centre project in
Singapore (1985 -1995)

Terminal 2 building in resolving disputes
with owners, sub-contractors and
consultants involved in the project,
including litigation, arbitration and

shipbuilders in Singapore in disputes
concerning delays, defects and valuatin

arbitrations in New Jersey with their

Professional background
Naresh Mahtani graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB (Hons)) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1981.
Over the past 25 years, he has practiced in various capacities, including Managing Partner of ATMD in 1998-1999; Senior Partner at ATMD from 1994 to 1999; Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Singapore in 2000 and 2001; and Director of Unilegal LLC Law Chambers in 2002 to 2004.
