Agent, with over 12 years of international intellectual property
experience including patents, trademarks, designs and copyrights.
Nevin has worked within private practice law firm and in-house
corporate legal department environments in the US, UK, Australia
and Singapore, counseling on intellectual property
matters from patent and trademark infringement opinions and
litigation to patent specification drafting and prosecution.
His previous experience includes in-house positions with Motorola
and positions with McDermott Will & Emery in the UK and
Thomason & Moser in the United States.
Clients that Nevin has worked with previously include IBM,
NEC, Applied Materials, Matsushita, Daewoo as well as A*STAR,
National University of Singapore and numerous start ups.
Nevin has also played an active role with advising clients
on strategic management of clients' patent portfolios, advocate
at European opposition proceedings, product clearance, and
conducting intellectual property awareness and procurement
presentations.
Nevin's valuable expertise in the preparation and prosecution
of
patent specifications relates to a broad spectrum of technologies
including biomedical, bioinformatics, business methods, computing
hardware and software applications, mechanical, semiconductor,
and telecommunication technologies.
With his extensive international experience, Nevin has a
keen appreciation and understanding of the subtleties associated
with securing patent protection for business methods and computer
software applications.
Professional background
Nevin graduated from St. John's University School of Law in
New York in 1995 with a Juris Doctor, and holds a Bachelor
of Science in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering from Southern
Methodist University in Dallas. In 1998, he also obtained
a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary
and Westfield College in London.
Nevin is admitted to practice before the United States Patent
and Trademark Office, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and
the Industrial Property Office of Singapore. Nevin is a member
of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (US),
Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (UK), and Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
